Thank you, Godfather!
I like the river and wilderness areas....that is good to know. And the pools for the kids.
4th of July sounds great, too.
Hope to hear more--thanks.

Hi...
I haven't lived in Bagdad for years and years, but I will tell you what I know. As far as temp...it does get hot. It is usually 10-15 degress cooler than Phoenix, I want to say the altitude is about 3500 ft or so and does get snow on occassion. When I went to school there, the school was fine, but at that time all of my teachers were my Dad's teachers when he was in High School. It is a real small town... I can't really speak of the people there anymore because most of them have left. There is a year round pool, one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor pool has slides and is a great time for kids. There are a couple of parks. You have the Santa Maria river about 10 miles out of town which is great for camping and picnics. Coors Lake is right outside of town, but I haven't seen it in years so I don't know how it is anymore. You have Wild Horse Basin about a 30 minute drive into the hills. If you like hiking or 4 wheelin, Bagdad is in the hills, plenty of little mountains to climb and tons of places to ride. Alot of people like hiking up Bruce Mine Road, you'll figure out where that is if you go there. If you head out towards Wild Horse...you have Lions Picnic grounds and just beatuiful scencery. They have a small 18 hole golf course and every year have a big 4th of July celebration with a town BBQ. If the money would have been right we thought about moving back to Bagdad a while ago to raise our kids. Like I said..I haven't lived there for a long time, just visiting so things may have changed. I wish someone from town would get on here and give you a little bit better info. Hope this helped a little. |

Silver City is heaven to me--where we are right now.Are the schools good? Stuff for the kids to do, little kids? Is there hiking or fishing nearby? THANKS!! ![]() Elizabeth |

Thanks Loco!!!! It has been a good ride on this site. Like everyone else I would love to take over the site, but...like everyone else, I don't have the computer savy to handle it either. Plus, I got 3 kids in school and sports...I couldn't find the time if I wanted too. Thanks to all who have participated and blogged with us Bagdad folk. It's just not the same anymore and Jim is right.....Facebook took everyone from this site. I wish everyone a fond farewell.

I too hate to see the site go, but I understand Jeremy's dilema. Like Jim, I wish I was more Web savy, I have the time now that I'm retired, but not the knowledge. I applaud Jeremy for putting this site up and keeping it going for this long. I haven't contributed much, but it has been fun following the threads and keeping up with some of the old timers and trying to figure out who the new ones were. (I think Facebook took all the people) Mr Loco: A BIG THANKS for all you have done!!! ![]() Sorry we couldn't make it over to Pinedale last month. We ended up going up to Marysville Washington to watch Michael get underway onboard the USS Momson and to go to an Uncle's funeral, so that took the time we had to come over there to visit. We will try to make it next time we go North. |

I would if I was computer savy but I am along way from running a website. Anyway thanks for good times we had on here and the best of luck to you and your family. Your good people!

This site will be shutting down finally, some time around 8/25. The arcade may be kept alive, it's the only thing in use now.
Thanks to everyone who participated, for a fun, sometimes wild, ride!!! I really appreciate everyone who spent time here and contributed in any way they could. Your funny posts & opinions were always a blast to read. You're all the reason the site lasted as long as it did. I hate to shut it down, but there's been no interest lately, and I have no info on the "goings-on" in Bagdad any more to keep anything updated. I feel bad for hosting a "dead" site, so if someone else wants to do something for Bagdadians, it's all theirs! Thanks again everyone, for every thing you've done through all these years. Cheers! ![]() |
